Anota: Analysis of Tables Version 7 |
Creating your own Anota data files
There are two ways to prepare new data for analysis by Anota. The first one is to enter all your bivariate tables. That may be a lot of work, particularly if you have a many variables. Another way is to use tables that may have been produced by a different program. Using a text editor (like e.g. notepad) you can create Anota data files in which you can include these tables.
An Anota data file always has the extension tbl. It is a text file (ASCII file) with a prefined format. Below is an example of such a file.

The first line contains the number of variables (3).
Then for each variable:
- Its name (Satisfac);
- Its number of categories (5);
- And then the name of each category (Not, too, Rather, ...).
Then for each possible table:
The name of the row variable followed by an asterisk and the name of the column variable. Use no blanks;
The counts in the cells of the table. Numbers must be separated by one or more blanks.
